You know how business cases are a dime a dozen in the leadership and change management world? Well, even though we're more inclined towards "Next Practices" rather than "Best Practices," it's refreshing to have a touch of reality running alongside our methods.

What Would Honda Do?

Jörgen's found this extraordinary case study from Japan, of all places! It's about Honda, but not the cars we're all familiar with. It's about Honda Airplanes! I'd never even heard of that division before. The connection to our Paper Plane Challenge was instantly apparent, but what's truly magical is how the steps, troubles, breakthroughs, and approaches in this case study align perfectly with our challenge. It's like they're mirror images of each other!

Wise Decision making

When I asked Jörgen about the source of this case study, he mentioned it came from a book about WISE companies. Talk about hitting another bullseye! We've been deep into exploring the transition from smart to wise decision-making, so this couldn't be more relevant. And get this – the book cover uses colors that clearly represent Graves' Spiral Dynamics model. It's like all the pieces are falling into place!

Following Jörgen's recommendation, I started reading about their advocacy for better and more conscious combination of tacit and explicit knowledge. You know that feeling when everything just clicks and you know you're on the right track? BAM.
