This is the best decision so far. By having to draw a visual per theme we ar discovering the true essence and story of each element and how they relate. This is what they call Research Through Design. An efficient creative process The process is simple, doing it... is a bit more complex. I start with the folder of a theme and lay out all the notes and tools. This is summarize in a theme-sheet because I need to connect all these visuals and tools to explainers, learning goals, courses etc in a later stage.
I then start drawing with a ft marker to find the structure and the main 'model'. As soon as I have the 'hook', I use the 9 field structure to draw with a grey pencil. This is a lot of trial & error. bit to the left, bigger, smaller etc. until all the models fit and are in the right place. Then I take the black sharpy and finalize the draft visual.
Final step is making a video with my Iphone flying through the fields and narrating the story. Jefta will use this to apply his secret sauce making it both 'simple' as well as super engaging.
Every project, each facilitator has its own learning goal: 100% digital
As I blogged earlier, we as facilitators have our own learning goals in each and every project. This guarentees us being sharp and our own personal growth. Jefta decided to leave the paper and pencils for this project and for the first time will make all 21 images digitally (on his Ipad Pro). This is also a bit more convenient as Jefta is now (tenporarely) located in Costa Rica.

Thinking Yes, and...: work in layers
When we are going to work in a digital tool like Pixelmator... can Jefta then draw each and every model in a different layer. In that way I can re-use the models later in a coursebook, slide or poster for example. Oh yes... this is going to be a neat experiment.

In Pixelmator all elements have their own layer. We will be able to use all 200 models separately and maybe even put them in a visual library.
