This will not work The structure for WWXD is proving too complex. It reminds me of a digital magazine where you scroll vertically for long articles and horizontally for short ones, disrupting the natural flow. We're questioning whether we should approach it thematically at this stage, and if so, how to determine themes and relate them to the 21 elements.
And this will work
We're increasingly seeing two sides of the coin. The working models from the framework require good examples, and these examples inspire application. This will be our strength moving forward.
Making it modular will create more flexibility
Perhaps we've found the answer: separating themes or WWXDs (and soon models) will make us much more flexible. The Framework and Rubrics provide an underlying structure, but everything is possible on top of that. You can literally graze through it.
This new approach could simplify our content organization and improve user experience. We'll need to discuss this further in our next meeting. I just neeeeeed some confirmation from clients that the whole idea of working models and WWXD examples will work for them. I will be facilitating a Futures Thinking course for the top-civil servants of the UA Emirates. Very well informed and educated group of people, but all their training is economics, business and logic... they are a bit less trained in design, creative thinking, digital culture, outside in thinking etc. So I'm going to use this group to re-test my assumptions on using the Framework, Working Models, WWXD's en Rubrics. Exciting.
